You can also download Empire XP from

Copy the installer program (EmpireXP60.msi) to a location on your hard drive (e.g., C:\temp).
Run the installer program by double-clicking on the EmpireXP60.msi and follow the on-screen installation instructions.

New features of 6.0 :

Version 6 no longer supports Win98/Me/2000

Version 5.x / 6.x ? From within the game, go to Help, About Empire XP.

The 4.x / 5.x registration is also valid for version 6.0

Upgrade 5.x to 6.0 (Registered and Freeware)

	Click Windows Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Select Empire XP and Remove.
	Install EmpireXP60.msi

Upgrade 4.x to 6.0 (Registered and Freeware)

	Click Windows Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Select Empire XP and Remove.
	Install EmpireXP60.msi
	Reg users: Copy the registration key file from C:\Program Files\Empire XP 4.4 to My Documents\Empire XP
	Reg users: Reload the maps from Map Downloads and place the files in the My Documents\Empire XP folder
	You can now delete the C:\Program Files\Empire XP 4.4 folder.

Empire XP 6.0 64-Bit (amd64 / em64t)

Empire XP is now also available as a native 64-Bit application for XP 64 bits, Vista 64 and Windows 7 64.

As explained at the Microsoft website, the new Windows x64 run on these machines: "AMD Athlon 64,
AMD Opteron, and Intel with EM64T".

The 32- and 64-bit versions are identical in functionality.

Empire XP 6.0 portable / no installer version

Empire XP Portable is a portable version of Empire XP which you can take anywhere with you on a USB stick.

The portable (no installer) version is just a zip, unzip anywhere to play.

Extract the zip and it's contents (59 files, 114MB) into the folder of your choice,
and then launch the "Empire XP.exe" file to start the game.

To create a shortcut on the desktop:
Right click Empire XP.exe and choose Send To, Desktop (create shortcut).
(do not drag the exe out of the original folder!)

The portable version is identical in functionality to the standard version, and can be registered too.
It uses the same registration as the standard version, one registration enables both versions.

Downloading older versions of Empire XP

If for any reason you want to download older versions of Empire XP,
you can just type in the URL (e.g. version 4.4: http://www.janbuurstrasoftware.com/empirexp44.zip), and
your browser should either prompt you to save the file or will automatically download the file.
